Supported SAP products
Peliqan connects to SAP environments through their official, published APIs. You can set up and configure a connector for any SAP object that exposes an API, including:- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition (OData V2 / V4 APIs)
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition and SAP S/4HANA on-premise (OData APIs via SAP Gateway)
- SAP SuccessFactors (HR / HXM data)
- SAP Ariba (procurement)
- SAP Concur (travel & expense)
- SAP Customer Experience (sales, service, marketing, commerce)
- SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) services
Peliqan uses SAP’s published OData APIs, in line with SAP’s guidelines for third-party data access. Peliqan does not use the ODP-RFC interface that SAP has restricted for third-party tools (SAP Note 3255746).
How it works
Each SAP OData service describes its own schema via a$metadata document. Peliqan reads this metadata to discover entities, fields and data types, and syncs the data into your Peliqan data warehouse as regular tables. From there you can:
- Query the data with SQL
- Combine SAP data with data from your other applications (CRM, marketing, finance, support and 250+ other connectors)
- Build reports and dashboards, or connect your existing BI tool
- Chat with your SAP data from AI assistants via Peliqan’s MCP Server
Example: Billing Documents (S/4HANA Cloud)
As an example, the S/4HANA Cloud Billing Document API (CE_BILLINGDOCUMENT_0001, OData V4) covers customer invoices, credit memos, debit memos, pro forma invoices and their cancellation documents. Peliqan syncs the entities of this service into separate tables in the data warehouse:
The same approach applies to any other SAP API: Business Partners, Products, Sales Orders, Purchase Orders, G/L Account Line Items, and so on.
How to connect SAP S/4HANA
S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition:- In S/4HANA, create a Communication User and a Communication System for Peliqan.
- Create a Communication Arrangement for the scenario of the API you want to sync (e.g.
SAP_COM_0008for Business Partner). - Note the Service URL shown under Inbound Services.
- In Peliqan, a new SAP connection will be added
- Activate the required OData services in transaction
/IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE(V2) or/IWFND/V4_ADMIN(V4). - Create a technical user with read authorization for the relevant services. We recommend a dedicated user for the integration, with access limited to the services you want to sync.
- Make the SAP Gateway endpoint reachable for Peliqan (public endpoint, IP allowlisting, or via a secure tunnel).
- In Peliqan, a new SAP connection will be added
Custom objects and Z-fields
Custom SAP objects and custom fields (Z-fields) that are not part of a standard API can also be covered. In SAP, a custom CDS view can be exposed as an OData service (transactionSEGW, or via key user extensibility in S/4HANA Cloud). Once the service is active, Peliqan configures a connector for it like for any other SAP API and syncs the custom data into the data warehouse.
This means the full scope is: any SAP object with a standard API, plus any custom object that can be exposed as a CDS view.
AI insights on SAP data with MCP
Once SAP data is synced into Peliqan, you can enable the Peliqan MCP Server and connect AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor to your SAP data. Ask questions in plain language:- “What was our invoiced revenue per customer last quarter?”
- “Which products have the highest discount rates?”
- “Show open sales orders per plant, compared to last year”
Consolidation with other data sources
SAP data in Peliqan is regular warehouse data. Use SQL or Peliqan’s data modelling features to consolidate it with any of the 250+ other connectors, for example:- SAP + Salesforce or HubSpot: revenue per CRM account
- SAP + Exact Online or other entity ERPs: group-level financial consolidation
- SAP + Shopify: ERP vs e-commerce reconciliation
Notes
- API availability differs per S/4HANA release and deployment (Cloud Public, Cloud Private, on-premise). Peliqan verifies the exact list of available services against your system during setup.
- SAP is migrating several APIs from OData V2 to V4; Peliqan supports both.
- For high-volume tables (e.g. G/L line items), incremental sync strategies are configured per entity (change-date filters or delta-enabled services).
