Connect Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central in Peliqan
In Peliqan, go to Connections and click on “Add connection”. Search for “Business Central” in the list. There are multiple connectors available for Business central. Note: if you want to use a Private App, see below on how to create the app in Azure. Connectors for standard data:- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (Private app)
- MS Business Central Custom API
- MS Business Central Custom API (Private app)
Add connection
In Peliqan, go to Connections, search for Business Central and select one of the connectors:Configuration Steps
1. Connection Setup
Connection Name Enter a descriptive name for this connection.2. Business Central Credentials
Tenant ID To find your Tenant ID:- Log in to Business Central and navigate to the Dashboard
- Click the Settings icon (⚙) in the top toolbar
- Select “Admin Center”
- Copy the Tenant ID from the URL (it appears as
https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/{TENANT_ID}/admin)
- In the Admin Center, select “Environments”
- Choose your environment from the list (or create one if needed)
- Enter the exact environment name as shown
- On the Business Central Dashboard
- Click the Building icon in the top toolbar
- Select the company you want to connect to from the list
- Enter the exact company name as shown
Create a “Private App” in Azure
In order to connect Business Central in Peliqan, you have to create an app in Azure. This is a so called “private” app. After entering all the details in Peliqan (client id, client secret, tenant id) etc. Peliqan will start syncing your data.- Login to Azure Portal Account and click on App Registrations (or search for App Registrations):
- Click on New Registration to register a single tenant application:
- Provide details and click on Register:
- On Overview, make sure to copy ClientId and TenantId:
- To enable OAuth, click on Authentication > Add Platform > Click on Web:
- A configure Web window will open to add Redirect URL (https://oauth.peliqan.io) and click configure:
- Add Permissions, select API Permissions > Add a permission > Dynamics 365 Business central:
- Add Delegated permissions and Applications permissions as below:
- AdminCenter.ReadWrite.all
- API.ReadWrite.All
- app_access
- Automation.ReadWrite.All
- Financials.ReadWrite.All
- user_impersonation
- Grant Admin consent to the Apps:
- Get Client Secret: In left pane, click Certificates & Secrets > Client Secret > New Client Secret and provide details to get the client secret. and click on the Add button:
- Register the Application in Business Central:
- Go to https://businesscentral.dynamics.com/ and login with the same account as Azure Portal.
- Click on search icon and search for ‘aad’ (or “Entra”) and select Azure Entra Applications.
- Click on New button
- On the new popped-up window, enter Client Id from app overview, enter a description and enable it.
- On the User Permission Sets section below add 3 permissions mentioned below and save it.
- Make sure the application should be enabled.
- Get Environment details:
- Select settings icon and select admin center:
- On admin center you will be able to find the environment details:
- Get your company name using company icon on Business Central Homepage:
- Select settings icon and select admin center:
