# Peliqan Machines - deploy vibe coded apps

> Deploy vibe coded web apps on Peliqan Machines VMs with any framework, and use Peliqan as the backend for auth, databases, and APIs.

Peliqan supports two types of apps that can be built and deployed on Peliqan infrastructure:

| | Data app | Vibe coded web app |
| - | - | - |
| **Structure** | Single file script | Multi-file project |
| **Coding language** | Python | Any language & framework |
| **Front-end (UI)** | Streamlit | Any framework (React…) |
| **Use cases** | Automations, Data visualizations, Set up Data APIs, custom MCP servers… | Build any rich web app |
| **IDE (coding editor)** | Peliqan Data App editor | VScode (or any other IDE) |
| **Complexity to write, deploy, run** | Simple | Moderate |
| **Execution environment** | Peliqan Data app VMs | Peliqan Machines (VMs) |

## Peliqan Machines

Peliqan Machines allow you to host your vibe coded web apps on Peliqan. These VMs are the next generation deployment environment from Peliqan.

Compared to traditional Data Apps, vibe coded apps running on Peliqan Machines provide endless flexibility to build & deploy any type of app.

### Deploying your vibe coded apps on Peliqan Machines

In Peliqan, in the left menu pane, go to Peliqan Machine:

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/peliqan-9d7f0393/RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV/images/pq-machines-menu-item.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV&q=85&s=a12bc8c99494ef52e8265c6a00cd97b2" alt="Pq Machines Menu Item" title="Pq Machines Menu Item" style={{ width:"30%" }} width="408" height="112" data-path="images/pq-machines-menu-item.png" />

Click on the button "+ New machine" in the right top corner. Enter a name and short description. Based on the description, Peliqan AI will scaffold a boilerplate web app.

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/peliqan-9d7f0393/RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV/images/create-machine.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV&q=85&s=f65b22190ef509eff7f331b483333d6e" alt="Create Machine" width="768" height="848" data-path="images/create-machine.png" />

Wait for the machine to be provisioned.

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/peliqan-9d7f0393/RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV/images/app-ready.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV&q=85&s=9a79886d5a75067f6af03ac13586afbd" alt="App Ready" width="2532" height="1606" data-path="images/app-ready.png" />

When the machine is ready, click on the button "Connect your agent" in the right top corner and follow the instructions:

1. Install the Peliqan CLI on your local computer (prerequisites: Python3, OpenSSH should be installed)
2. Sign in on Peliqan CLI with your Peliqan account
3. Connect to your Peliqan Machine
4. Download the `instructions.md` file for your coding agent (e.g. Claude Code).

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/peliqan-9d7f0393/RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV/images/connect-agent.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV&q=85&s=ebe68d000d62db8c3cd873e875a1f1cd" alt="Connect Agent" width="994" height="1062" data-path="images/connect-agent.png" />

The `instructions.md` file outlines the high-level sequence of operations for the agent to deploy your code, and it indicates where specific skill files are located within the generated base project files.

Vibe code your app in your favorite environment (e.g. using Claude Code) and make sure to instruct your agent to read and follow the instructions in `instructions.md`.

Ask your agent to deploy your app, it will use a secure SSH connection to your Peliqan Machine (using the peliqan CLI).

### Preview app

You can preview your deployed app under "Preview". You can copy the temporary preview URL of your app and use it outside of Peliqan:

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/peliqan-9d7f0393/RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV/images/app-preview.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV&q=85&s=4edcbe62fbee102d567d9e75e0037489" alt="App Preview" width="3020" height="2014" data-path="images/app-preview.png" />

<Note>
  The VM of your development environment (preview environment) will automatically shut down after some time of inactivity.
</Note>

### Browse files

You can see all deployed files of your project under "Code".

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/peliqan-9d7f0393/RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV/images/code.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV&q=85&s=a2c2795dcff784803695dd4bb02dc054" alt="Code" width="3586" height="1682" data-path="images/code.png" />

### Deployment logs

View the deployment logs for any errors.

### Settings - General

Use Settings > General to e.g. restart your environment.

### Settings - Environment

Use Settings > Environment to set environment variables such as:

* `PQ_API_KEY`: API key from your Peliqan account, used to call the Peliqan API
* `PQ_BACKEND_URL`: e.g. `https://app.eu.peliqan.io` if you are on the EU instance

You can ask your agent (e.g. Claude Code) to set these for you.

<img src="https://mintcdn.com/peliqan-9d7f0393/RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV/images/env.png?fit=max&auto=format&n=RtKYDN1fk_Zr9OdV&q=85&s=e4821f3428c98bea99cdc435d7b0cd1b" alt="Env" width="2590" height="1134" data-path="images/env.png" />

### Publish to production

In order to make your app permanently available to users, you have to publish it to production, using the button "Publish to production" in the right top corner.

You will be able to choose your own subdomain, for example: `myNewApp.machines.eu.mydatacloud.com`

You can also link your own domain or subdomain by adding a CNAME record in your DNS to the above subdomain. Next, contact [Peliqan Support](mailto:support@peliqan.io) to activate your custom domain.

During deployment, a vulnerability scan will be performed on your app. You can find the detail under Production > Logs.

## Peliqan as backend

Use Peliqan as the backend for your vibe coded apps, and allow multiple apps to share the same backend. Peliqan as a backend includes:

* Authorization and authentication via Peliqan
* Built-in Postgres database
* Peliqan data warehouse (businesss data)
* Peliqan writeback connectors (connect to your ERP, CRM…)
* Run scheduled jobs (cron jobs) using scheduled Data Apps

## Data apps

Data Apps are low-code single file Python scripts, using Streamlit for the UI. These are an alternative to vibe coded web apps. More info:
